A tradition of distinctions dating back to 1952
Quality recognised with an international signature
The journey of DAF WINES is defined by a steadfast commitment to quality, respect for the indigenous varieties of Crete and the creation of wines that authentically express their place of origin. This philosophy has been recognised over time through important distinctions at Greek and international wine competitions, confirming that Cretan winemaking can play a leading role on the international stage.
A tradition of distinctions dating back to 1952
The first major recognition of the Douloufakis family is recorded in 1952, when Evangelos Douloufakis won an award at the Thessaloniki International Fair for the quality of his wines. This distinction became a point of reference for the family and laid the foundations of a course that continues to this day.
Since then, every generation of the family has worked toward the same goal: creating wines that express the authentic identity of the Cretan vineyard.

International recognition
In recent years, the DAF WINES labels have won awards at some of the most important international wine competitions, such as:
- Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) – one of the most recognised competitions in the world.
- Mundus Vini (Germany).
- Berliner Wine Trophy.
- Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
- International Wine Challenge (IWC).
- Thessaloniki International Wine & Spirits Competition, the most important international wine competition in Greece.
These distinctions confirm the consistency of DAF WINES in producing high-quality wines that stand out both for their authenticity and for their distinctive character.
